Bank Draft authorization Application
This option is completely FREE. Bank Draft allows you to have your utility bills automatically drafted from your savings or checking account every month!
Here’s how it works:
- The Town of Clayton will draft your account each month on or after your payment date, which is always indicated on your monthly account statement.
- Your payment date is a fixed day each month, unless it falls on a weekend or holiday. In these instances, the draft will be sent on the next business day.
To send payment by mail, use the return envelope that is provided with your bill and address it to P.O. Box 63024, Charlotte, NC 28263-3024.

All you need to set up your online account is:
- Your account number
- The street number of your address
- Your name
- The email you wish to use
You can pay online by using a credit or debit card. There will be a 3.5% processing fee for every transaction using a card.
Avoid Waiting in Line - Use our Convenient Drive-up Drop Box
You can use our convenient drive-up drop box to make your payment.
Simply drive up to the silver drop box located in the Town Square parking lot at the corner of S Fayetteville St. & E 2nd St., insert your payment, and you're on your way!
Please note that the drop box is only for checks and money orders, and we kindly request that you do not use cash.

Enrolling in EPP guarantees that you receive a consistent bill amount each month. This is calculated based on the average of your bills from the previous 12 months and is recalculated annually.
It's an ideal solution for managing seasonal usage fluctuations and allows for easy budgeting.
Eligibility Requirements for the Plan: To qualify for this plan, customers must meet the following criteria:
- Must have a $0 balance.
- Must have a good payment history.
- Must have been a customer for at least 12 months.
