Public Art Advisory Board
The Public Art Advisory Board was established to form a collection of artistic works for the community to enjoy and dress up the public spaces in the Town.
The Board specifically works with artists who loan or gift artwork to the Town and makes recommendations to the Town Council for the creation of a Public Art Program. This Board has the responsibility for making recommendations to the Town Council for all art acquisitions and exhibitions of artwork in the Town.
We are proud of this 9-person Board of volunteers. Their dedication and commitment shines with every project they accomplish. Collectively they brainstorm, research, develop and bring to life their artistic vision to help make Clayton recognized as a vibrant, thriving artistic community.
What's New
Clayton's Public Art Advisory Board is calling all knitters and crocheters to join in a top-secret surprise project!
The Public Art Advisory Board is collecting acrylic yarn knitted or crocheted squares. Squares can be 15", 20", or 24" inches. Any color or pattern is accepted, but yarn must be acrylic.
The squares collected will be used for a surprise project that will be displayed in Downtown Clayton. The Public Art Advisory Board will reveal this surprise art project to the public in Fall 2023.
Drop off your yarn squares at our collection locations:
- The Clayton Center - 111 E 2nd St, Clayton, NC 27520
- Artmosphere - 3919 Raleigh Rd, Clayton, NC 27520
